Produced by Chateau La Rivalerie, appellation Premieres Cotes de Blaye, this Bordeaux red won the silver award from Decanter. It is a very good example of a cabernet sauvignon, fairly dry, with a presence of tannins, which makes it a brilliant wine to go with red meat. It is the same wine as the bag-in-box, offering you the full benefit of what was a superb year for Bordeaux wines! The Bonarccosi family bought this vineyard in 1997. Situated by the Garonne River, north of Bordeaux, the vineyard and the buildings necessitated some restoring which the family worked very hard to do and by so re-establish the reputation this chateau had a long time ago. Getting the silver award was the first important accolade they received; let’s hope they will be plenty more!
