Chateau St Jacques Calon “Cuvée des Moulins” 2004 is an AOC Montagne St Emilion. 2004 was a good year for this wine and this is an example of a successful harvest of grapes grown in the perfect climate! Aged in oak barrels, a combination of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, this wine compared to the 2003 is much more fruity, bolder, but still an elegant and voluptuous wine! The colour is deep and bright; the structure is well balanced and the finish very pleasant! Frederic Maule, 5th generation to own the chateau, is a young winemaker who has inherited of his family’s tradition. He is very successful, and has recently been praised by French and US specialists on his range, especially 2001 Grande reserve. Located next to the prestigious AOC St Emilion and Pomerol, this privileged vineyard benefits from ideal conditions.
