Chateau St Jacques Calon is an AOC Montagne St Emilion. This 2001 vintage has been aged in new oak barrels, a combination of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc; it is a very small production. The colour is intense; the aromas are reminiscent of wild strawberries, with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. A very meaty elegant wine with aromatic nuances. It is only sold in a sealed wooden case containing 6 bottles. Praised by wine specialists, this is a perfect purchase for the wine lover! Frederic Maule, 5th generation to own the chateau, is a young winemaker who has inherited of his family’s tradition. He is very successful, and has recently been praised by French and US specialists on his range, especially 2001 Grande reserve.
