Chateau de Bonhoste red is 70% merlot, 20% cabernet sauvignon and 10% cabernet franc wine. Chateau de Bonhoste is located 6 km South of St Emilion. The colour is an intense red and the structure is well achieved between the soft tannins and the fruit. Black berries, cherry, hints of raspberries with some finishing notes of dark chocolate, a good round solid wine. Robust and powerful, it should be matched with food equally robust from game to spicy food and cheeses. Available in bottles but 2005 vintage.
The Fournier family has owned these vineyards for generations, passing on their passion and hard work. They grow the vineyard in accordance to traditional farming and supervised control method. We stock a few of their wines, and all are always very well appreciated. They are renowned for producing very soft, subtle wines, and are always coming away from specialist fairs with medals and awards!
