Terms and Conditions
1. General terms
To proceed with an online order you must be 18 years of age or more and agreement with all details below is necessary. You will be asked to agree terms when you go to the checkout, and will be automatically directed to this page. You can register your agreement by clicking the box at the bottom of the page.
There is no minimum order on this site, however, please note that the price for delivery will be the same for one bottle as for 12.
2. Prices
All wines are quoted per 75cl bottle or bag-in-box (unless otherwise stated). Prices include UK duty and UK Value Added Tax (VAT) applicable at the time of payment.
3. Payment
All goods must be paid for prior to dispatch.
Payment may be made using our secure online server, Protx, by Visa / Mastercard / JCB / Switch / Solo

We accept payment by cheque (payable to Provenance) and should be drawn on a bank domiciled in the UK. We will withhold dispatch until the cheque has cleared. Please contact us via email, sales@provenancewines.com to arrange cheque payment.
4. Delivery Charges and Time Schedule
We only deliver to UK mainland addresses. The following delivery charges apply:
Deliveries are free of charge for the Edinburgh postcodes between Monday and Friday. A £5 charge will apply for a Saturday delivery and be payable on delivery of goods.
For all other UK mainland addresses, an £8.50 (inc VAT) per delivery address for orders of up to 12 bottles or 3 bag-in-box)
An additional £3.50 (inc VAT) charge will apply for each subsequent case or bag-in-box
Orders for a value of £200 or more will be free of charge
For Saturday deliveries outside Edinburgh, a charge will be quoted on request
Orders sent to multiple addresses will be treated as separate orders for delivery charge purposes.
Dispatch will occur only on payment of all charges.
Goods to the Mainland UK (excluding Isle of Wight, Scottish Highlands, Islands and Northern Ireland) will be delivered within two working days (Monday - Friday excluding Bank Holidays) providing the order is received by 12.30pm UK time.
Orders received after 1.00pm UK time will be DISPATCHED on the following working day and delivered as above.
Deliveries will be made during OFFICE HOURS ON WEEKDAYS, unless a Saturday delivery is specifically requested and the additional charge paid. Our courier will automatically send you an email to confirm delivery number and contact details in order to track your parcel.
We do not deliver or dispatch on bank holidays. We do not dispatch on Saturdays and we only deliver on Saturdays by specific prior arrangement, at an additional cost
We do not guarantee the time of day for deliveries.
SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS deliveries may take longer.
NORTHERN IRELAND, SCOTTISH ISLANDS, ISLE OF WIGHT, THE ISLE OF MAN, ISLES OF SCILLY – deliveries in these areas are possible, however, delivery charges will be higher and should be discussed prior to your order being placed.
Standard delivery costs will be shown on the order confirmation.
SPECIAL DELIVERY INSTRUCTIONS - If you do not expect to be home to receive your wine, you may leave special delivery instructions (e.g. leave in garage, with a neighbour). We are happy to pass these instructions to our carriers, however, neither we nor the carriers will accept responsibility should the wines be lost, stolen, or damaged as a result of such instructions being followed. Please use the 'Delivery Instructions' Box on the final order page.
IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFORMATION: Please ensure the correct address is provided and recipients are able to accept deliveries. Refused and failed deliveries will be returned back to PROVENANCE at a cost of £17.50 payable by the sender. If no one is available to receive the goods our carrier will notify the recipient of the attempted delivery with a Card placed through the letterbox. If the items are not claimed within 5 working days they will be returned to PROVENANCE at a cost of £17.50 payable by the sender.
To re-send a parcel there will be a further delivery charge.
We would strongly recommend, when sending gifts to friends or relatives, you ensure someone will be in to receive goods, or that you provide their work address
5. Returns / Guarantees / Cancellation
We will provide a full refund for any wines that are deemed to be out of condition. We may require these wines to be returned to us and will ensure that all costs are credited. We must be advised within three days of the delivery date
Any breakages or damages will be replaced free of charge, providing the carrier has been informed at the time of delivery. We must be advised of breakages or shortages within three days of the delivery date.
Cancellation - You have the right to cancel your order, for any reason, within 7 working days from the day you receive the goods. You will however have to pay the cost of returning the goods to us. We will refund the balance of your money within 30 days of any cancellation and on receipt of the returned goods
6. Order confirmation
When an order is placed, a confirmation of the order will be emailed back to you shortly afterward. This serves as a FULL V.A.T. INVOICE for the wines and delivery. No financial details will be included with the wines when they are delivered, whether they are delivered to billing address or other addresses.
Please note, our confirmation email is AUTOMATICALLY GENERATED. Occasionally, certain servers filter it out as 'spam' and ban it. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please let and know and we will send one manually.
7. Availability
If a particular product that is ordered is out of stock, you will be advised as to when the goods are likely to be dispatched. An alternative product may be offered and we will confirm details before dispatching. Occasionally with mixed cases of wine, we will substitute one wine for another of similar quality. We will always discuss and agree with you prior to dispatch
8. Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are available on the site and will be sent free of charge.
The vouchers will be valid for 6 months from the date of purchase
These can either be sent to you, the purchaser, or to another person, providing you specify address and any special messages to go with it
To redeem the voucher, type the given code in the voucher box on the customer details page when placing your next order online.
9. Security and Privacy
All personal details will be kept strictly private and confidential and will not be shared with any other party.
